Travail Cohort

A year-long cohort for men learning to follow Jesus toward wholeness in identity, calling, and daily life.

What We Do

We weren’t meant to live fragmented, distracted, and disconnected from who we are before God. We weren’t meant to live half awake to ourselves and the people around us.

Join a brotherhood committed to deep spiritual work through shared journey and spiritual direction — learning to live with greater attention, intention, and wholeness as we grow into the life of Christ in everyday life.

Travail Cohort FAQ

  • Travail is for men who recognize their spiritual lives are starting to drift or lack direction. Work, faith, relationships, and routines keep moving, yet purpose feels thin or scattered. Travail is a year-long cohort for men who want their lives to come together—learning to follow Jesus in the real world by choosing direction over drift and attention over distraction. It is a shared walk over time, shaped by honest conversation and lived practice.

  • The cohort meets locally in the Peoria/Glendale, Arizona area.

  • Over the course of one year, you’ll walk through twelve spiritual movements, with brothers committed to the same path. Together, you’ll build the habits, language, and strength to carry deep faith into every part of life.

    Includes:

    • Bi-Weekly Gatherings: Guided spiritual direction, Scripture, reflection, and conversation that connect life in Christ to daily work and relationships.

    • Brotherhood: A small circle of men committed to honesty, prayer, and walking together through real challenges.

    • Retreats: Take a weekend away to rest and recharge.

    • Pilgrimage: All participants have the option of participating in any of Travail’s pilgrimages.

    • Rule of Life: A simple rhythm of prayer, work, rest, and service shaped over time through shared practice.

  • While there is no current cost, all participants are responsible for sharing costs associated with the retreats (typically $100-$200 per retreat), and are responsible for the costs associated with the pilgrimage, should they choose to participate (varies depending on location).

  • Whenever. Cohorts begin each January.
